  3. Egaint relies on BIOS for reading the keyboard, so, no, this
  4. doesn't (well, it shouldn't) mean that egaint is non-compatible
  5. with TSR keyboard enhancers.

  7. Rather, this means egaint plays better with them.

  9. If you have a keyboard enhancer which adjusts the typematic rate,
  10. you will probably find that playing egaint with it is a tad bit
  11. easier than playing without it.  I'm not quite sure how to
  12. explain this, so that's all I'm going to say:  you'll just have
  13. to try it out yourself.

  15. I personally use this archaic program (copyrighted 1985) by Skip
  16. Gilbrech called "kbfix2"; though it's old, it quite versatile:
  17. not only does it adjust the typematic rate of my keyboard, but it
  18. also provides an extended keyboard buffer (among other things).
  19. Unfortunately, I got years and several computers ago without any
  20. sort of documentation whatsoever, so I don't know whether it's
  21. shareware or whether the author still supports it (and if there
  22. is a newer version).
